While trade is banking on the film to sprint into Rs 100 crore club, a lot depends on how much it earns over the next two days. "Trade analyst Taran Adarsh had tweeted earlier, "#Gold witnessed a decline on Thursday.

It seems like the national holiday has paid off for both Bollywood releases this year with Akshay Kumar's Gold and John Abraham's Satyameva Jayate together bringing in more than Rs 40 crore in net box office collections, besides the highest opening day figures for the two lead actors individually. Producer Bhushan Kumar opened up exclusively to Filmibeat and showcased his happiness about the movie having a tremendous opening at the box office despite having an A certificate.

The combined box office collections of Satyameva Jayate and Gold on Day 1 was approximately Rs 45 crore. "Gold" also stars Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet Kumar Singh and Sunny Kaushal in pivotal roles.

Abraham's best solo performer so far, has been action drama Force 2 that had made Rs 5.75 crore, so there is good news for him too. "This is a clash that has resulted in cash for all involved", said film trade analyst Atul Mohan.
