During the interview with Chuck Todd, she brought a recording of her firing by Chief of Staff John Kelly and claimed that it involved a veiled "threat". "I protected myself because this is a White House where everybody lies; the president lies to the American people, Sarah Huckabee [Sanders] stands in front of the country and lies every single day", she said.
She framed the newly released audio as proof of her story and that Kelly put her in an uncomfortable situation after "trying to find a reason to let me go".
But the Situation Room recording raised questions about whether she had breached security protocols in a room that is supposed to be devoid of personal electronic devices.
The former "Celebrity Apprentice" star said Mr. Trump "absolutely" lies all the time, and she isn't sure if he lied during his call with her. She was one of the highest paid employees on the White House staff, given a salary of nearly $180,000 a year.
Trump suggested that her dismissal was in large part related to her standing with the staff.
Omarosa Manigault-Newman, once one of President Trump's biggest defenders, has in recent months totally sworn off both him and his administration. "That's downright criminal", she claimed.

The response from the White House was stinging.
She also claimed Americans were being kept in the dark about the president's mental decline saying: "I was complicit with this White House deceiving this nation". In the book, Manigault-Newman calls Trump a racist, a bigot, and a misogynist.

President Donald Trump continues to be "frustrated" that Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself in issues relating to the Trump campaign - and wants only "to make sure we're investigating all sides of the so-called Russian collusion", counselor Kellyanne Conway said Sunday.
White House aides are exploring what punishment she could face for the purported recording in the Situation Room and in the building, according to a senior administration official.
CNN host John Berman said during his interview of Short that Trump had repeatedly promised to only hire "the best people" in his White House.
