Provided exclusively to the Huffington Post and then posted online Thursday morning, the first trailer of Michael Moore's upcoming film "Fahrenheit 11/9" reveals the filmmaker's attempt at making sense of the rise and reign of President Donald Trump. The doc, a sort of sequel to Moore's anti-W film Fahrenheit 9/11 is set to hit theaters September 21, a date chosen by Moore to spread the anti-Trump word before the mid-term elections.
Fahrenheit 11/9 refers to the day that Trump was officially announced as the next USA president, and the title seems to liken his election to have had as much of an impact on the country as the September 11 attacks did. Rick Snyder might also make an appearance since Moore previewed a clip of himself spraying lead-contaminated water from Flint, Michigan on the governor's front lawn.
"He's taking a much bigger perspective on American politics", Thom Powers, the docs programmer for the Toronto International Film Festival, where Moore will premiere the film, told the Los Angeles Times. "This is the movie that will end the madness".
In the trailer we see Moore, visibly whipped up, meeting with both Parkland activists as well as rising influential politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
"Our media has no idea what it is up against, he said".
Russia ready to resume full-scale dialogue with new Georgian leadership, says PM
Georgia entirely lost control of both South Ossetia and another separatist region, Abkhazia. He has warned against Georgia joining North Atlantic Treaty Organisation .
This film will be Moore's second film about the president. This puts us all in grave danger.
Since Trump won the election, the Oscar-winning documentarian has referred to the president a "traitor" who should be arrested and tweeted that his presidency is a "total bomb" that will "close early" (with the help of his 10-point plan). Hope leads people to believe that tax returns, or a pee tape, or the Federal Bureau of Investigation or an adult film star will save the country.
"Hope is passive. Hope gives you permission to let someone else do the work".
Fahrenheit 11/9 opens on September 21.
