Joker Director Todd Phillips shares first glimpse of Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur

Robert De Niro is in talks to join the film, as a talk-show host who plays a part in driving Phoenix's character to go mad and become the Clown Prince of Crime.

Following Joker director Todd Phillips' just-released first official photo from the film, a Reddit user has re-imagined star Joaquin Phoenix's Arthur with the chalk white skin and green hair typically associated with the character.

Phillips shared the photo on the same day paparazzi photos from the set in New York City surfaced on JustJared.

That's pretty much all we know for sure at this point. According to Phillips' post, Phoenix's character will be called Arthur.

TMZ was able to obtain this video of Joaquin performing on set opposite a disturbing clown in overall suspenders. It sure would be cool to see Crispin Glover's take on Joker, wouldn't it?

Ken Starr: Manafort deal with Mueller 'really good for the country'
Eisen earlier hinted at the reasons for his belief that Trump was in big trouble due to Manafort's cooperation. His Brooklyn brownstone will be gone, too, and his condo in Trump Tower in Manhattan.

If what you're seeing isn't what you were expecting of Batman's greatest nemesis, that's because this film tells the story of how Arthur turned villainous.

Phillips' spin on the iconic character is said to borrow inspiration from Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, and is rumored to reveal the character was tormented in his youth.

Phoenix is a three-time Oscar nominee, considered one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation. There are plans for Leto to reprise his role in at least two different projects.

After the disappointing critical reception to their DC Extended Universe of movies, Warner Bros hopes for the Joker movie to start a new spin-off series of one-shot movies.
