Missy Elliott put on a special performance just a month after learning she had a "funky white sister" named Mary Halsey, who went viral for doing a karaoke take on the rapper's "Work It."
During Thursday's episode of the daytime talk show, Missy joined Mary Halsey onstage for a surprise performance of "Work It".
Elliott said that she was immediately impressed with Halsey. She revealed that she learned "Work It" in 2003 to compete in a karaoke competition then, and soon it became her go-to song.
"It was a shock, I never expected this", said Halsey about going viral and getting a response from Missy for the original video.

Businesses are ratcheting up lobbying against tariffs that the Trump administration has imposed, or is considering. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has extended an invitation to talks to his counterparts in Beijing.
Sitting down for a chat, an overwhelmed Mary admitted: 'I can hardly just sit here, you've blown me away. The reaction was so positive that she continued to perform the tune over the years. It quickly went viral, accumulating millions of views and drawing attention from Elliott herself who praised the performance on Twitter and called Halsey her "funky white sister". This might just be the most pure video on the internet. "And so, I heard my rap going backwards, and I said, 'Keep it, and I'll make words around that part.' And that's what made me say, 'Flip it and reverse it'".
She was later gifted a signed t-shirt and a jacket embroidered with her famous nickname-Missy's funky white sister.
