According to NBC, "D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Police Chief Peter Newsham were scheduled to appear at a news conference Thursday morning to give an update on the case".
Wendy Martinez, 35, was jogging September 18 in Washington, D.C. when a man came up and stabbed her multiple times.

Anthony Crawford has been charged with first degree murder for what police believe was a random knife attack on Tuesday night around 20:00 (01:00GMT). "It looks like it was an unprovoked attack".
Her mother, Cora Martinez, told the Washington Post that she was working in her dream job with a fast-growing start-up company.
Martinez, left for dead in the street, managed to stagger into a nearby takeout restaurant, where members of the public tried to tend to her "life-threatening" wounds.
Surveillance video from the restaurant, which we are not showing due to its graphic nature, shows the woman coming inside the restaurant covered in blood. Security cameras from inside the Chinese American eatery shows the Georgetown University alumnae bleeding from her neck before collapsing on the ground.
Second shark attack in Whitsundays in 24 hours
In a series of tweets, RACQ Rescue confirmed it had sent the rescue helicopter to Cid Harbour to retrieve the victim. The incident occurred within 24 hours of an attack on a Tasmanian women in the same area.
"This is one of those types of unsettling incidents that sometimes happen in large cities, but it seems like a singular incident", said Chief Newsham on Wednesday, when a manhunt was still under way.
The police now believe the stabbing was a random attack and Martinez did not know her attackers, Newsham said at the press conference. Police said he did not cooperate with investigators, however they are confident they have the right person.
While Crawford has a criminal record, police say there is no indication of violence in his past at this time. Police will continue to comb through his background.
Late Wednesday night, police took a suspect in for questioning. K-2, also known as "spice", is a synthetic marijuana that is banned in the U.S.
Authorities said Mr. Crawford is now in custody, but is not cooperating with police.

They remembered her as a "devout Christian" and "avid runner" who was dedicated to her friends and driven to pursue her professional dreams. She was also excited to be planning her upcoming wedding to her fiancé Daniel Hincapie. "They were engaged just last week". This is a very isolated incident.
