It tweeted: "We've learned that when showing the best Tweets first, people find Twitter more relevant and useful".

To enable the reverse chronological feed, open the Twitter app and tap on your profile image. Instead of showing you only things you request or presenting content strictly in chronological order, for example, the algorithms would show you things in order of how likely you were to engage with said thing.

But now Twitter says it will make it easier for users to switch back to the old timeline and remove algorithmic features for users who opt out. Previously, you'd also see "In case you missed it" and recommended tweets from people you don't follow.

"At any point, just pull-to-refresh to see all new tweets at the top in the live, up-to-the-second experience you already know and love", said Twitter.

In 2016, Twitter revamped how its platform works by shifting to an algorithm-based order of tweets as the default timeline.

Apple goes all-screen with three new iPhones
Apple says the speaker is now 50 per cent louder and is upgraded for phone calls , Siri and Walkie-Talkie. It may get the real-time watch along with the heart rate monitoring, weather as well as fitness stats.

Twitter insists, however, that it has been working on these changes for some time, and that Kinema's tweet was not directly responsible for them.

However, Twitter intends to provide an easy-access switch that will enable people to toggle between the two approaches.

An option to switch off the "Show best tweets first" feature in the account settings has always been available but unchecking this box didn't switch Twitter back to an entirely pure chronological timeline. It could easily be made a one-click option on the menu bar between Messages and the Twitter (blue bird) icon.

But now, Twitter is planning to move the changes that have caused irritation for so many users on to a user-controlled option. Users who were accustomed to the organization and common sense of reading tweets in the order they were posted were thrown off by Twitter's new endeavor.

Twitter - like Facebook and Google - is now being accused of bias by de-ranking certain users and blocking others outright. To flip the "Show the best tweets first" toggle off, go into the settings, select "Content preferences", and flip the toggle in there.
