Unai Emery demands 'personality' from Arsenal players - Premier League 2018

Mesut Ozil 'can do more' for Arsenal, says Unai Emery

How Arsenal could line up against Newcastle United

Arsenal manager Unai Emery believes Saturday's trip to Newcastle United will be a "difficult" test ahead of his first visit to St James's Park.

Ozil was omitted from Arsenal's squad for last month's 3-1 win over West Ham, prompting reports of a dispute with Emery - who had said the midfielder was ill - before he returned to the starting XI for the last game at Cardiff. Here for me it isn't for a lot of the time speaking about what people are telling us.

All players have returned from global duty with their national teams in good health and are available for selection.

"The players have the habits to play in the global break, in important matches, defending their identity and when one player stops doing that, I think it is also good for them to focus only on their team", said Emery on Thursday. But Emery is hoping the extra rest and training sessions during the worldwide break - the first since Ozil announced his retirement from Germany - will help the star midfielder find his feet again.

Marcus Rashford better than Ronaldo and Kane at 20 - Southgate
They are going to have the League Cup and European football, so there's more opportunity that the squads will get rotated. Marcus Rashford wants to stay at Manchester United and fight for a first-team spot, according to the Sun .

There have been calls for Stephan Lichtsteiner to come in at right-back but I think Hector Bellerin will keep his place and he should once again line-up alongside Nacho Monreal, Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis in the back four.

Emery believes the next step for his players is to forge a new tactical identity on the pitch.

"Mesut, like other players, works very well here and also working the ties and also together to improve things". I look at him with the focus totally here.
