ALDS Game 3 Highlights: Red Sox vs. Yankees | Stadium

Lost in Boston’s offensive outburst was Nathan Eovaldi

And everything else went Boston's way all night, so why not this?

Boston went on to win, 16-1, to take a 2-1 lead in their ALDS. Each made the case for more playing time in the postseason, but who do you sit?

Boston's Brock Holt connects for a two-run home run against Yankees backup catcher Austin Romine during the ninth inning of the Red Sox's Game 3 ALDS victory.

In the postseason, Porcello's record is decidedly more mixed.

"An embarrassing day", shortstop Didi Gregorius said. Rick Porcello is scheduled to pitch against NY lefty CC Sabathia. "But Nate, he can even get away with mistakes, you know what I mean?" I told a couple of teammates that he has no idea that in 2016 and '18, Betts and Mike Trout will have finished 2-1 and 1-2 in the MVP voting and Wins Above Replacement science. I was trying to hit a home run.

"That's the first one ever?" a surprised Holt asked a TBS reporter after the game. "So I'm not going to go out there and compete if I'm not healthy". "Everybody was rooting for him".

NY is built for Yankee Stadium, where it takes advantage of the short right-field porch and hit 144 of its record 267 home runs.

"We've got to try to keep them in the ballpark". Still, Green proceeded to serve up a two-out RBI single to Steve Pearce and a two-run triple to Holt.

Neymar: My son loves Mbappe a lot
On Mbappe, Tuchel was impressed by the teenager's quadruple but also suggested that he could and should have scored even more. The striker is a serious contender to win FIFA's Ballon d'Or award which has a shortlist of 30 players.

"I think back to the replay of the Luke Voit play at first base, that Angel Hernandez actually got right".

"He's been swinging the bat well for a while now", Cora said. He's also been one of the Red Sox's hottest hitters, though, posting a.354 batting average and ridiculous 1.123 OPS over the final month of the regular season. He pitched for NY in 2015 and '16 before injuring his elbow, which required Tommy John surgery for the second time.

It was just the fourth time in a playoff inning that the Red Sox had plated at least seven runs and the second-most runs overall Boston has scored in any playoff contest. "It was a special moment for me". But tonight, I think we settled down pretty nice. We can argue that Boone should have pulled Severino in the third inning, but it was criminal that the Yankees skipper sent the right-hander out for the fourth inning.

"Two places that are historic franchises where the fans are definitely rowdy for their home team and against the visiting team", Red Sox reliever Matt Barnes said. Vazquez's infield single off Severino's glove drove in the first run.

The originally scheduled pitching matchup was Luis Severino for the Yankees and Rick Porcello for the Sox. He left with the bases loaded and nobody out in the fourth and was charged with six runs and seven hits. "It wasn't an issue". That is just the second time in postseason history that a position player came in to pitch, after Cliff Pennington did so in the 2015 ALCS for the Blue Jays while getting blown out by the Royals.

"I found out once we had landed (in New York) that I was going to start Game 3", Eovaldi added of the move. "Mitch is available, but he's not 100 percent", Cora said.

Yankees: CF Aaron Hicks remained out of the lineup after missing Game 2 with tightness in his right hamstring, which forced him from the series opener Friday. Brett Gardner was back in center, but Boone said he wouldn't hesitate to use Hicks in any role off the bench. These are playoff games. In 24 appearances and 23 starts against the Yankees, including the postseason, he is 10-9 with a 3.22 ERA.

This will be the first postseason game in the Bronx between the rivals since Boston won Games 6 and 7 of the 2004 AL Championship Series across the street at old Yankee Stadium, becoming the first major league team to overcome a 3-0 deficit in a best-of-seven postseason series.
