As she belted out 1991 hit The Promise of a New Day, Paula strutted forward to greet her adoring fans though as she reached the edge of the platform she proceeded to fall head first off the stage.
"Eyewitnesses say Paula got up and continued on with the show", notes TMZ. An inaudible gasp could be heard from the concertgoers as she slipped and fell and fans nearby tried to catch her.
In a fan-shot video (above) from the concert, which took place as part of Abdul's Straight Up Paula! tour, the singer prompts the crowd to wave their arms in the air.
It is great to see her back on stage singing again after being a judge on American Idol for years.
While Abdul may be just fine, she'll have plenty of time to rehearse her steps.

The fall wasn't the first injury scare Abdul's faced in her 30-odd year career. It's unclear if she hurt herself, but she didn't show it. Fact is.
She said that tour reminded her of how much she enjoyed being on the road and performing for her fans so she made a decision to embark on her own tour the following year.
