Variety reports, and Gizmodo has confirmed, that because of commitments to the Fantastic Beasts franchise, Ezra Miller won't be available in the window Warner Bros. was considering shooting The Flash in 2019. DC is trying to soft reboot their universe and I'd be fine with a little more distance between The Flash in Justice League and whatever the new take will be once his movie finally rolls around.
A year after Man of Steel's release and amid the successful launch of CW's The Flash, Warner Bros. announces The Flash is coming to theaters in 2018 with Ezra Miller, not Grant Gustin, starring as Barry Allen.

Production on the Flash film was said to start sometime in March even though the film has never received a formal green light or a release date. After the studio cast Miller in the role of the speedster to much fanfare in 2014, the actor made his first appearance in the DC Extended Universe in a cameo in 2016's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Dope director Rick Famuyiwa later replaced Grahame-Smith before leaving the project for the same reasons.
After discussing the issues with "The Flash" movie and why it is being delayed, the writers state: "The studio is not now moving forward with Batman and Superman movies featuring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, respectively". Both superheroes were meant to follow up 2017's Justice League with solo outings of their own, but this year's Aquaman and April's Shazam are the last solo superhero movies on the docket. If the latter, it would be too bad, because Miller's zippy performance as the Flash was one of the few bright spots of Justice League. It's unknown if Clemons will return for The Flash, or if the character will be recast.
