Dubbed a "great storyteller", Stan Lee is credited with the creation of many beloved Marvel superheroes. The Hollywood Reporter notes that the legendary comic book writer and publisher died at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Monday morning.
Lee has had a few health issues in recent years and was hospitalized earlier this year. TMZ spoke to Lee's daughter, J.C.

As the Marvel Universe expanded, so too did Lee's role in its creative and business operations.

His cameos have been a staple of nearly every major Marvel movie since the reinvention of the Hollywood franchise, which The New York Times notes had grossed more than $24 billion worldwide as of April this year.
While the world did not get to see that character come to life, Lee has left fans with an enduring legacy that brought people from all cultures, races, and religions together. Stan started Marvel with Jack Kirby in 1961 with The Fantastic Four. Since the formation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Lee has made a cameo appearance in each of the superhero films, though their relationship went through a rocky period.
