"Game of Thrones" fans have been anxiously waiting for the hit fantasy series to return since Season 7 wrapped in the summer of 2017, which feels like an eternity ago. Every sacrifice. Every death.

Sky TV are expected to simulcast each episode at the same time as it airs in the U.S. as they have done during the past few seasons. It will also no doubt come as a welcome surprise to the show's loyal viewers, who will recall they had to wait until July a year ago when Season 7 premiered.

The premium cable network made the announcement in a teaser trailer for the long-awaited final season, which will consist of six episodes. The video was merely a montage of few of the epic moments from the seven seasons gone by featuring all the lead characters including Jon Snow, Cersei, Hodor and more.
