Watch: Cowboys, Eagles in pregame scuffle

A loss to the Philadelphia Eagles could've been enough to close the book on the Dallas Cowboys' 2018 season.

Of course, the Cowboys could both be dysfunctional as an organization and capable of winning the NFC East this season, but it is a bit odd that statements like this from Aikman would come so close together. But, it was the Cowboys that came away with a 27-20 victory.

Elliott and Dak Prescott quieted the doubters after a dazzling Sunday that put the champion Eagles' season on the rocks. Elliott has been an Eagles killer throughout his career so far. Wentz hit Nelson Agholor, who made an excellent catch for a 51-yard gain to the Cowboys 8.

That changed versus the Eagles.

So when Elliott racks up 151 rushing yards, two touchdowns, and 36 receiving yards, it's obviously a good sign for the Cowboys. It was the most impressive hurdle of his National Football League career and easily one of his biggest highlights. Elliott ran in from the 1 to give Dallas a 27-20 lead after Prescott completed passes of 24 yards to Amari Cooper and 23 yards to Allen Hurns on the drive.

There is no lack of talent on Philadelphia's offense. Jay Ajayi (torn ACL) is out for the year.

In the first seven games, the Cowboys never converted better than 41.7 percent of their third-down tries.

California Wildfires: Malibu Evacuated As Three Fires Destroy More Than 30,000 Acres
Cal Fire Director Ken Pimlott said a "very significant, risky weather pattern" would continue through the end of the weekend. California is now being devastated by three separate wildfire blazing through the state, due to high winds and low humidity.

With an emphasis on getting the ball out of Prescott's hands to his home run hitters on the outside, the Cowboys not only have their starters at WR but plenty of depth options below. Josh Adams escaped up the right sideline for 29 yards and Corey Clement had a burst for 11 yards.

Despite the loss, several offensive stars had great performances. He would receive help from some daring play calling from Jason Garrett and a clean performance from Dak Prescott, who would throw for 260 yards and one touchdown through the air and another on the ground. He is only the third Dallas rookie linebacker since 1999 to have an interception in a game, according to the Cowboys.

Tate had said he looked forward to playing for the Eagles due to their passionate fan base, and he wasn't disappointed.

The players were separated by officials, and cooler heads eventually prevailed, but if this is any indication of what will take place during the game, then it figures to be must-see TV.

Troy Aikman one week ago: The Cowboys are dysfunctional.

The Cowboys just shrugged it off as just another controversy that didn't concern them.
