Amazon also launched the DeepRacer League, under which it plans to hold 20 races for DeepRacer owners at AWS summits, where they can win credits and win tickets to the championship cup at next year's AWS re:Invent conference.

One of the products that the company will offer is called Amazon Quantum Ledger Database or QLDB. These customers would like to be able to run AWS compute and storage on-premises, and also easily and seamlessly integrate these on-premises workloads with the rest of their applications in the AWS Cloud.

AWS unveiled several Amazon SageMaker features, including low-priced, automatic data labelling and reinforcement learning, and also announced a high-performance ML inference chip, AWS Inferentia, which was custom-designed by AWS and will be available in 2019.

"VMware's vision is to provide customers with consistency of infrastructure, operations and developer experience, enabling them to build and run any application wherever the business requires".

The blockchain service, Amazon Managed Blockchain is a fully managed service.

Outpost delvers racks of AWS compute and storage with the ability to run services like Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) and Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) on this AWS-designed infrastructure.

Expanding its partnership with VMware, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced launching its own datacenter hardware on premises through AWS Outposts.

Amazon Managed Blockchain supports two popular open source blockchain frameworks, Ethereum and Hyperledger Fabric, and setting up a blockchain network is as easy as a few clicks in the AWS Management Console.

"Today's announcements remove significant barriers to the successful adoption of machine learning, by reducing the cost of machine learning training and inference, introducing new SageMaker capabilities that make it easier for developers to build, train, and deploy machine learning models in the cloud and at the edge, and delivering new AI services based on our years of experience at Amazon".

With Outposts, customers can now put AWS into their own datacenters using the AWS hardware.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is rolling out two new solutions created to enhance the transparency of corporate transactions for companies that have full audit requirements. "So, we tried to reimagine what customers really wanted when running in hybrid mode, and developed AWS Outposts". Amazon SageMaker Ground Truth learns from these annotations in real time and can automatically apply labels to much of the remaining dataset, reducing the need for human review. "Today we expand our strategic collaboration with AWS to provide our mutual enterprise customers with more choice and options as they extend their hybrid cloud environments to drive agility, simplicity, security, and full infrastructure interoperability".

Jassy also announced a new AWS Marketplace for machine learning. Amazon Personalize can make recommendations, personalise search results, and segment customers for direct and personalised marketing through email or push notifications.

"On-prem is more resilient than any cloud provider may have thought and AWS is the last to admit it", says Holger Mueller, prinicipal analyst at Constellation Research Inc.
