D-backs fans were devastated about the Paul Goldschmidt trade

He joined our Chris Hrabe after the trade announcement, Wednesday and gave Goldschmidt just about the best compliment you can give a player (especially if you're about to be a St. Louis Cardinals first baseman).

Goldschmidt, 31, has been a National League All-Star each of the past six seasons and he's a four-time (2013, 2015, 2017, 2018) NL Silver Slugger award victor and three-time (2013, 2015, 2017) Rawlings Gold Glove award recipient.

Neither of those outfielders produced up to expectations in 2018, however, with Fowler hitting.180/.278/.298, and Ozuna playing through a shoulder issue and hitting.280/.325/.433 with 23 home runs, a big drop from his 2017 numbers with the Marlins.

James Comey appears before House Judiciary Committee in closed session
Under a deal struck with the House Judiciary Committee, he can speak afterward and a transcript will be released. Comey said he might answer questions after the interview, which is expected to last much of the day.

Goldschmidt, 31, was drafted by the Diamondbacks in 2009 and was promoted to the majors in 2011. He'll be eligible for free agency after the 2019 season.

In 2013, Goldschmidt hit 36 home runs and drove in 125. "He represents everything it means to be a D-back, and we are very thankful to him for all that he has done for our franchise and our fans", Diamondbacks President Derrick Hall said.

Corbin signed a $140 million, six-year contract with the Washington Nationals. Greinke finished last season with a 15-11 record in 33 starts with a 3.21 ERA. Greinke came to the Dback after three seasons with the Dodgers.
