Google Home Assistant Will Notice if You Say 'Please' and 'Thank You'

Google has bestowed its personal assistant with new abilities, including a change that rewards users for saying "please" and "thank you", visual lyrics for singing along to songs, and more.

To encourage polite manners during family gatherings, Google Assistant now enforces politeness. Your Assistant will often respond with something like, "Thanks for asking so nicely". Almost two decades after the film's debut, we now have virtual assistants that can change the temperature of our homes, play music, and adjust lighting just like PAT could - although your average Google Home is far less bossy, to be sure. "Alright, 5 minutes. Starting now'".

If you have a smart display like the Google Home Hub, the call is also accompanied by fun graphics, which is fantastic for getting small children (and adults) into the Christmas spirit. You can now say "Hey Google, Call Santa" and follow along.

Users can now can now create itemized lists with Google Assisting using voice commands. Starting next week, you'll be able to use the feature to communicate between a Google Assistant-powered Smart Display or speaker and your smartphone and Google Home device. You can access the feature when someone rings by tapping the blue "Talk" button. You can create a group to manage multiple appliances at once, set up a schedule to turn them on and off automatically, or just leave them be to charge. The company says that it will be adding Keep Notes integration soon, as well as support for Any.do, Bring!, and Todoist.

The blockchain service and the new Quantum Ledger Database (QLDB) were unveiled at its AWS re:Invent annual user conference. In his keynote, Jassy said none of the hybrid options now available provide a truly consistent hybrid experience.

There are other features coming to smart displays.

Google is also bringing a way to let you easily share photos featured on your Smart Display with any of the persons in your contact list.

There are 50 titles to choose from including Beauty and the Beats, Cinderella and Dora's Super Sleepover. There are classic books such as Disney's "Mickey's Christmas Carol" Little Golden Book.
