Neil deGrasse Tyson, renowned astrophysicist and host of the popular television show "Cosmos", is being investigated by National Geographic networks amid allegations of sexual misconduct. When Watson tried to leave, Tyson asked her to perform a handshake he said he had learned from a Native American elder, which involved feeling a person's pulse and staring into their eyes.

The allegations were reported Thursday on the website Patheos, which features writing on religion, science and the skeptic community.

Dr. Katelyn Allers, an associate professor of physics and astronomy at Bucknell University, claims Tyson allegedly groped her at an American Astronomical Society after-party in 2009.

The Daily Wire has reached out to Neil deGrasse Tyson for comment, but as of publication, we have not received a reply. Watson says she did this for about ten seconds, but was extremely uncomfortable and says she thought to herself, "You're supposed to be very smart, why can't you pick up that I don't want to touch you right now?"

According to her, Tyson began to peek underneath her dress in order to find Pluto and while she acknowledges that the instance was not necessarily assault, it points two what she describes as "creepy behavior". He said the woman later told him that she was "creeped out" and viewed the invitation as an attempt to seduce her. "I felt like he was expressing that he wanted to have a sexual relationship with me". "Had I been told of her discomfort in the moment, I would have offered this same apology eagerly, and on the spot".

It also made it double gold for New Zealand at the Dubai World Series, with the women's team winning their tournament yesterday. A Harry Glover try with time running out lifted England to a 15-14 win over Australia in the third-place match.

Both allegations have come to light around four years after musician Tchiya Amet claimed that Tyson raped her when they were both graduate students at the University of Texas, Austin. Watson told Patheos that deGrasse Tyson's attempts to persuade her to have sex with him forced her to quit her job.

Tyson also said he did not immediately speak publicly on the issue because he believed "serious accusations should not be adjudicated in the press".

"For a variety of reasons, most justified, some unjustified, men accused of sexual impropriety in today's "me-too" climate are presumed to be guilty by the court of public opinion". Unfortunately, the night only got more awkward as Tyson, who is married, reportedly put on romantic music and replayed the most graphic parts.
