PS Plus members get Soma, Onrush, Iconoclasts free for December 2018

The last batch of games with PlayStation Plus may not boast the AAA offerings that some might have been hoping for, but they're too very different and pretty fun experiences all the same.

It's that time again - time for a new lineup of free PlayStation Plus games.

It's the most wonderful time of the year and for PS Plus members it's one of the most wonderful times of the month as Playstation announce the upcoming free games coming to subscribers.

Finally, PS Vita owners get access to Iconoclasts and Papers, Please. Soma is from the same studio responsible for Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Players earn boost by performing stunts and slamming rival racers to take them out.The game itself is a team game; twelve players are split into two teams of six. Players in Onrush can race in off-road vehicles or motorcycles. Steredenn, initially released in 2015, is a space shooter arcade game.

In addition to these free PlayStation Plus games, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to download the PlayStation Plus Booster Pack III for Warframe. Sony offers multiple game trailers in the PS Store. All the above-mentioned titles can be accessed for free from December 4 to January 1, 2019.

The news comes from a German outlet by the name of Techtastic (with translation help from Microsoft), who came across a patent filed by Sony Interactive Entertainment a year ago, indicating that the company is looking at some kind of cartridge format - relating back to the type of media that the PlayStation Vita used. The console will launch 24 years after the debut of the original console in Japan. You can pre-order it from Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop and Walmart. It does not have an AC adapter.
