For a fair while now, people have strongly suspected that Jake Gyllenhaal would be playing villain Mysterio in the upcoming Spider-Man: Far from Home film.
The actor, who also debuted on Instagram a few hours ago, decided to make his first post on the social media platform about the Spider-Man role.
In the 37-year-old actor's first Instagram post, he jokingly confirmed what we all pretty much knew already.

Editors at The Hollywood Reporter claimed in May that Gyllenhaal was in talks to play Mysterio, and in October, photos from the production in the Czech Republic surfaced online and showed him dressed in a suit and cape.

The rocket also carried 40 mice and 36,000 worms to help researchers with age and muscle studies, the Associated Press reported. It appeared to be undamaged and was transmitting data, Musk said, adding that a recovery ship was sent to retrieve it.
The role will be the actor's first major part in a superhero blockbuster film.
Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, not Gyllenhaal, in the lead role, and comes out in July 2019. Quite an odd villain, Mysterio relies on more of a smoke and mirrors approach in trying to defeat his spider-nemesis. The character was introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man #13 back in June 1964.
The film see Tom Holland reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
Before Far From Home, Spider-Man is expected to appear in the as-yet untitled Avengers 4, which will conclude the events of Infinity War.
