Website pulls 'racist' Priyanka Chopra article after backlash

Indian Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra (L) and United States musician Nick Jonas, who were recently married, pose for a photograph during a reception in New Delhi on December 4, 2018.

Regarding the article, while speaking to HindustanTimes, Priyanka said she did not want to react to such "random things". It's not even in my stratosphere. After waiting patiently for a few days, Priyanka and Nick posted dreamy pictures and videos from their Christian and Hindu wedding and trust us, words fall short if we try to describe how wonderful they looked. We took handsome traditions that we both grew up with and personalised them in a way that made sense for us. Chopra and Jonas got married in a big fat wedding over the weekend at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur.

The article, literally titled 'Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas' Love For Real?', fully questioned Chopra and Jonas' relationship going as far as to end the article by telling Jonas to "gallop away as fast as you can".

Both Priyanka's new brother-in-law, Joe Jonas, and his fiancée Sophie Turner, have responded to the article on Twitter. "An earlier story about Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas did not meet our standards".

After tumults of backlash, the magazine updated the article and later deleted it. "What Nick & Pri have is Beautiful Love", while Turner called the article "wildly inappropriate and totally disgusting".

'The most special moment was when the curtains opened and I saw him at the altar...

It came as Nick's brother Joe Jonas officially welcomed Priyanka, 36, into the family with a sweet message on Instagram.

Among other celebrities who stood by Chopra and Jonas was Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, who tweeted that the Cut has "a lot to answer for".

A number of journalists also spoke out against the piece on Twitter, questioning the Cut's decision to publish it in the first place.
