AWARD-winning Australian actor Craig McLachlan has been charged with assault and sex offences.

Actor Craig McLachlan has been charged with charged with one count of common assault and eight counts of indecent assault by police in Australia.

The 53 year old actor rose to worldwide fame from his appearance in Home and Away and Neighbours.
