Fresh United must exploit Tottenham fatigue - Berbatov

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on substitutes

Football: Spurs' Pochettino recalls how he cheered United counterpart Solskjaer's 1999 Champions League final goal

Manchester United used to take players from Tottenham fairly regularly, having signed Teddy Sheringham, Michael Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov, but Pochettino believes such transfers are becoming increasingly rare.

Kane is widely recognised as one of the best strikers in the Premier League but Solskjaer sees no reason why academy graduate Rashford can not eventually reach that level.

Rashford has thrived since Solskjaer took temporary charge at Old Trafford, scoring in three of his five appearances under the Norwegian.

"We can talk about Harry Kane and his class and I'm sure Marcus as well has the potential to get up there".

"Of course we're going to be in a different club, because it's not the same to play in Wembley for the last two years almost".

Perhaps the biggest beneficiary of United's change in management has been Paul Pogba, though, with the Frenchman beginning to show the type of form we knew he was capable of.

"[Tahith] Chong, Angel [Gomes] and him, they play together in a certain way so he's a very exciting player to work with".

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Lu Kang said a one-day extension in talks showed both sides are serious about the negotiations. No details were immediately announced, but Asian stock markets rose after talks planned for two days were extended to three.

He added: "They feel so excited to be there and I think that's flowing from them on to the players".

Solskjaer has accepted the speculation surrounding Pochettino - "because he has done well" - even though he knows little about the Argentinian's management style.

"I think all the fans of Manchester United, and of course for the players and for the staff, to have a person (like him) involved is a massive impact", he said. I remember him when he scored the second goal in the injury time and how I shouted the goal of Manchester United, that was unbelievable.

"He's probably a very good man manager, but you've got to ask someone else. It's easier to play an attacking way and your way when you've got good players, and he's got lots of good players".

"I do think these two now, they may not tell everyone every day this is the best club in the world, but just through their actions, to them it is and you should be so happy to be here".

"In that case when I say we need, we need to find a different way to operate, between all, sharing ideas and trying to find different ways to adapt, the new sporting project".
