Police identified 33-year-old Arroyo from the video and say he could face two misdemeanor charges for theft and prowling.

A Salinas, California, family was startled, but amused, by footage from their home security system early Saturday morning showing a man licking their front doorbell for three hours.

According to media reports, the cameras in the newly installed security system also caught Arroyo moving an extension cord to the front yard and relieving himself.

"I thought, 'Oh boy, that is just weird, '" Dungan told CBS Sacramento. 5 in the morning? "I started reviewing the video and said 'Who the heck is that?"

After licking the Dungans' doorbell, Arroyo reportedly visited another home in the neighborhood.

They said their children were inside the house at the time, asleep. Police are still looking for him.

And although the situation is concerning, Dungan said she did laugh at the situation.

"This just kind of re-enforces how important it is to have security within your home", Dungan said.

Still, the homeowners say they made sure to wipe off their doorbell.
