Justin Fairfax, Virginia lieutenant governor, accused by second woman of sexual assault

Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax denies second accusation of sexual assault

Democratic Senators Call on Justin Fairfax to Resign After Second Sexual Assault Allegation

The allegations against Fairfax come as both the governor and the state attorney general are contending with scandals of their own. Meredith Watson, a classmate of Fairfax's at Duke University, claims that he assaulted her in college in 2000 in an "attack [that] was premeditated and aggressive".

"Ms. Watson was raped by a basketball player during her sophomore year at Duke". Smith said Watson reported it to a top-level university administrator but received no help and was discouraged from taking the claim any further. At least one of those friends has publicly corroborated her account, while others have reportedly provided statements.

A Duke spokesman told USA Today that they had only just become aware of the allegations and are now looking into them. Coach [Mike] Krzyzewski confirms he had no knowledge of the alleged conduct from 1999. "But I can not agree with a description of events that I know is not true". "She turned and asked: "Why did you do it?' Mr. Fairfax answered: 'I knew that because of what happened to you a year ago, you'd be too afraid to say anything.' Mr. Fairfax actually used the prior rape of his 'friend" against her when he chose to rape her in a premeditated way". "That is hugely important".

"First of all what I plan to do.is to make sure that we have sensitivity training - in our Cabinet, in our agencies". Watson allegedly told Adams that the assault happened at a fraternity house: "She said she couldn't speak, but she was trying to get up and he kept pushing her down".

In a separate statement responding to the latest allegation against him, Fairfax said he has "never forced myself on anyone ever" and demanded a "full investigation into these unsubstantiated and false allegations".

Fairfax, 39, has said his encounter with a woman who accused him of forcing himself on her sexually in Boston in 2004 was entirely consensual.

The lieutenant governor denies both of the allegations.

Sarri: Hazard is the best in Europe
Sarri said after the season that Higuain should win the Ballon d'Or and he stands by his statement, telling reporters: "I told this after the season in Naples".

"It must take tremendous courage for women to step forward and talk about being the victim of sexual assault", Northam said. I want to stand here in that truth and restate that my truth, as well as the truth of Dr. Tyson and Ms. Watson, should be fully investigated and thoroughly assessed.

Watson's first statement outlined her accusation, saying that the details were similar to Tyson's and that she was friends with Fairfax as an undergraduate. Ms. Watson also told friends, including Justin Fairfax.

At Duke, Fairfax was a Reginaldo Howard Scholar and a Young Trustee.

Boyd, whose group says it represents 109,000 farmers across the country, said on Twitter afterward that he pledged his support to the governor and "urged him NOT to step down". "Sexual assault is abhorrent and unfortunately can occur right around us".

For example, he said, Virginia has a serious issue with infant and maternal mortality - "we've talked about it, now it's time to take action". Updates will be added as they become available.

This is a developing story.
