The bank followed up, adding that the systems issue is due to a power shutdown at a Wells Fargo facility after smoke was detected during routine maintenance. As of 10 a.m., online banking services remained unavailable.
"We apologize for the inconvenience caused by these system issues, and we want our customers to know that any Wells Fargo fees incurred as a result of these issues will be reversed".
Last Friday, the bank was also apologizing on social media for trouble with its online banking systems.
Other customers were joking that the system outage was helping them spend less money. Some customers reported that cards were being declined as well.
Many Wells Fargo customers are unable to use their debit cards or log onto the website or mobile app Thursday because of a power shutdown at one of their facilities triggered by smoke.
Woody Allen suing Amazon for $68M over killed movie deal
After delaying the film, Allen alleges that Amazon canceled its release entirely and backed out of its remaining film obligations. Amazon didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
Many who saw the post, however, were not satisfied with the bank's response.
Customers noted that they could not even speak with a banker over the phone for their banking needs because they were told bankers can't access the accounts, either.
Users took to Twitter complaining about not being able to access the bank's website and app.
Thursdays outage is the second to hit Wells Fargo in the last week.
