Canada's Kabengele impresses as FSU slam Morant, Murray State

Ja Morant

Let's Meet Murray State Star & Future NBA Draft Pick Ja Morant's Girlfriend (PICS)

This season, Morant - at 6-foot-3 and 175 pounds - is averaging 24.4 points, 10.2 assists and 5.7 rebounds while shooting 50.4 percent from the field. Or would the talent gap eventually waylay the Racers like it has so many previous double-digit-seeded first-round winners? And as Myron Medcalf of ESPN reports it was a monumental day for Murray State's Ja Morant. Not even Morant's magic was enough to keep the 12th-seeded Racers in striking distance for long against the deep, talented Seminoles.

By the end of it all, No. 4 Florida State had secured its return to the Sweet 16 with a 90-62 win over No. 12 Murray State in the second round of the West Region, ending Morant's college career unceremoniously.

Now the model has dialed in on Florida State vs. Murray State.

New Mexico St vs Auburn
McCormick ended up with five points, four assists and two rebounds in 23 minutes of action. LSU took on Yale in the No. 3/No. 14 matchup, and the Tigers held on for a 79-74 victory.

Florida State is making its 17th NCAA Tournament appearance, including one Final Four, and is 20-16 all-time in the tournament. The Seminoles forced the other Racers to make plays and they couldn't deliver. Arguably the best individual performance of the day came from Murray State star Ja Morant who is expected to be one of the top draft picks in the National Basketball Association this year. The Racers are eighth in point differential (plus-13.4) while the Seminoles are 37th at plus-7.8.

Senior guard Terance Mann led the way with 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists while sophomore forward Mfiondu Kabengele added 22 points and seven rebounds. He scored 36 against Belmont in the OVC title game and had a triple-double against Marquette in the 2019 NCAA Tournament opener.
