CVS now selling CBD products in handful of states including Indiana

The drugstore chain said it started selling CBD products last week in select states across the country, including Colorado. Now it's finally happening, as CVS announced they'll soon offer topical products including creams, sprays, roll-ons, lotions and salves.

These items with be available at CVS stores in eight states, including California.

CBD has landed at CVS.

In a statement, CVS specified it would not sell any supplements or food additives with CBD.

"Our survey found that 82% of USA consumers are aware of the health and wellness benefits of CBD, which is a really staggering number", said Randy Burt, Partner in the Consumer and Retail Practice at A.T. Kearney in an interview with Retail TouchPoints.

It was just a matter of time when the major pharmacies would start picking up on CBD products. Those products could be functional foods and beverages, or they could be in personal care products.

THC, the psychoactive chemical that causes the high, is found in marijuana.

DeAngelis declined to provide information about specific stores in Maryland where the products will be sold.

"While hemp and hemp-derived CBD are no longer controlled substances under federal law, some state laws may be more restrictive than federal law and other states still prohibit or limit hemp", he said.
