Thousands of reports were filed on Tuesday night, according to DownDetector.

Some users affected by the outage claim that they are not able to send or receive emails.

Earlier, at 10.53am, they said that affected users can access Google Drive but they are receiving error messages, high latency and other unexpected behaviours.

Australian users have been among the hardest hit by the malfunctioning service. "Check your network and try again", is the message that these users said comes while sending email. Google seems to be experiencing an outage that is affecting several of its services, with the issue affecting customers across the U.S., Canada, Japan, Malaysia and Australia.

Many users across the globe are reporting issues while using Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive and other Google services.

Hopefully, Google will quickly solve this issue. We'll be updating the post when we learn out more. But if there's a project or deadline assignment you need to send right away, and Gmail is your only e-mail account, you'll have a ideal excuse as to why you didn't get it on time.

Google has not yet put out an official statement confirming the issue, or commented on how long the outage would last.

We will update this story when there is a resolution.
