It was announced last week that Spurs are finally set to open the gates to their brand new stadium, with the club confirming that the first Premier League match will be against Crystal Palace on Wednesday 3rd April. With the option to either dribble wide or cut inside, he chose the latter and unleashed a fierce shot, bending into the far corner, leaving the goalkeeper hopeless.
Spurs have been playing home games at Wembley Stadium, England's national football ground, while the new stadium was being built.
The supporters didn't have to wait long for their first opportunity to celebrate either, as 17-year-old J'Neil Bennett scored the stadium's first-ever goal just 11 minutes into the match.
Here are some nice photos of the stadium on the day of its inaugural event.
The stadium which was originally scheduled to open in September against Liverpool, has had its opening pushed back several times since but was opened Sunday for the first test event, a Tottenham Under-18s match with Southampton.
All being well, their first competitive game will then be against Palace four days later in a rearranged Premier League match.
The youth team game was one of two test events to ensure the new stadium meets the Haringey Council's safety standards.
The final touches have been applied to Tottenham Hotspur's brand new £1 billion pound stadium.
"I think it is unbelievable, it is so hard to explain in only a few words", he said.
"We all now need to feel the ambition of the club at every level".
"We are almost crying because our dream became true and we have to say thank you, first of all, to [Spurs chairman] Daniel Levy because in 2001, when he started to believe in that dream".
"It's going to be awesome and a massive impact for the team, for the players and the club to have the possibility to finish this season [at the stadium]", added Pochettino.
The new ground has a capacity of 62,062 - compared with 36,300 at Spurs' former White Hart Lane ground.
'We are in a very good place in PL and we know we have a massive challenge in the quarter final of the CL but with all our fans, 62,000 people we can make possible our dream to be in the semi-final, why not?'
