Real Madrid agree €50m deal for first summer signing under Zidane

Éder Militão, Porto defender, becomes Zinedine Zidane's first signing after Real Madrid return

Real president Florentino Perez has again turned to Zidane, who stepped in for Rafa Benitez in 2016.

Zidane is expected to splash out on squad improvements this summer and with the likes of Eden Hazard and Kylian Mbappe potentially coming in, Bale may find himself surplus to requirements.

The right footed player, who can fill in at either right back or in central defense, has signed a six-year deal to take him to Real Madrid until the end of June 2025 and is thought to have cost in the region of 50 million euros (1 euro = 1.13 United States dollars). The team has fallen into crisis since he left in May after winning an unprecedented third straight Champions League.

"It is fantastic for everyone to have him back at Real Madrid".

According to his agent, Jonathan Barnett, the 29-year-old is "fine" with the manager's return.

"Over the period of time it just got worse". At the moment he's very happy.
