Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) defended the Green New Deal during a Friday appearance on ABC's "The View", saying, "you can not go too far on the issue of climate change".
Ahead of a vote in the United States Senate on the Green New Deal, senators are still divided over the support for the ambitious package of proposals to fight global climate change.
The much-hyped Green New Deal has created a division within the Democratic Party between those, such as Ocasio-Cortez, who believe only extremely ambitious initiatives will make a difference, and those who favor a more realistic approach, like Pelosi or Sen. "He's the one who brought it up", Durbin said.
The hosts of "Fox & Friends", President Donald Trump's favorite morning show, have accused Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) of advocating for "civilizational suicide".
"We also wanted to ask if we could deliver some stories to him if we could. tell him why we're here and why we support the Green New Deal", she added. The non-binding resolution calls for a World War II-style mobilization to achieve "net-zero" greenhouse gas emissions within 10 years.
But while the plan has been embraced by numerous 2020 Democratic presidential candidates, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have raised questions about its multi-trillion-dollar price tag and the sheer logistics of implementing it. David de Gea 'drops hint over Manchester United future'
United does its job to get back into the top four with a dominant display against a team that has some confidence. "I think with his history of being a player at Man United and now doing it as a manager in a very good way, I think you can't have better science to be the next manager".
"We welcome all the enthusiasm that people want to put on the table, and the Green New Deal is one of them, but we have to operate in a way that's evidence-based, current in its data", she continued. For his own part, McConnell has been a staunch denier of climate change - in 2014, he said, "for everybody who thinks [the planet is] warming, I can find somebody who thinks it isn't".
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., has previously been outspoken on government action to address climate change but has not signed on as a cosponsor of the Green New Deal. But curiously enough, this planned vote was met with outrage from the very people claiming to champion the proposal.
"I've been doing this for 30 years", Feinstein told the group. A polite legislative campaign for the Green New Deal isn't going to cut it - these people are literally making money from killing the planet and dooming humankind.
The Green New Deal is a wide-ranging stimulus package that includes investment in climate-friendly infrastructure, a guaranteed job for all Americans "with a family-sustaining wage", restrictions on fossil fuel technology and "high-quality health care" for everyone.
"The games they are playing here will have no meaning".
