Tucker Carlson Doubles Down On Racism

The 100 or so shows we made with Mr. Carlson weren't a secret.

Carlson said in an August 2018 show that most people live their entire lives without even meeting a Klan member or Nazi.

BRYANT POND, Maine (AP) - Fox News host Tucker Carlson said he's scuttling plans for a TV studio near his vacation home in rural Maine because of publicity. After all, he's just giving the viewers what they want.

In December, PepsiCo's SodaStream and Pacific Life Insurance Co. were among the advertisers cutting ties with the show after Carlson made disparaging comments about immigrants.

On Monday, watchdog group Media Matters for America released homophobic and misogynistic comments by the Fox News personality.

Carlson described the contestant, who famously fumbled when answering her 2007 Miss Teen USA pageant question, as "a wounded gazelle, separated from the herd" and suggested that Mario Lopez, the show's host, had slept with the teen. Comedy breaks taboo subjects that release the unspoken into the air in ways that are, dare I say, funny.

After the first round - which featured Carlson's suggestions that rape shield laws were "totally unfair", that women were "extremely primitive" and that he would "love" a scenario involving young girls experimenting sexually - Carlson issued a defiant statement to The Washington Post. They feature Carlson saying that "Iraq is a crappy place filled with a bunch of semiliterate monkeys" who "can just shut the fuck up and obey" the American forces in the country. "Rather than express the usual ritual contrition, how about this: I'm on television every weeknight live for an hour".

Carlson responded to the audio releases with his own tweet this week. Two years later, he added, "I don't know how black he is, but I'm sure he's a good basketball player - he says he is, anyway".

On Tuesday, Carlson praised Fox News for supporting him and stood by his refusal to apologize, vowing "we will never bow to the mob ー ever".

Fox News host Tucker Carlson suffered another revelation of off-color commentary from his past on Wednesday, further complicating the network's pitch to advertisers at this week's "upfront" presentations in NY.
