Fire rips through mobile showers at Coachella music festival in California

A fire ripped through a mobile shower unit at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival early Saturday.

According to the Riverside County Fire Department, four engines responded to the scene. It occurred in a storage area of Lot 8 in the 81000 block of Avenue 51, the agency said.

Within half an hour, the blaze was "contained", the department said. People on the scene caught parts of the massive flames that rose from the showers on the campground, which were reportedly caused by a mechanical failure of the heating used for water. They found a shower unit engulfed in flames; one trailer was damaged and another was destroyed. Luckily, as reported by Billboard, the fire resulted in no injuries or deaths. The live feed will resume Saturday at 4:15 p.m. with music from Weezer, Billie Eilish, Tame Impala, Bassnectar and others.

Coachella started Friday and will continue through Sunday before resuming for a second weekend on April 19 to 21.
