Barrett will disappointingly remember his last tournament game where he missed the front end of a pair of free throws against Michigan State in the Elite 8 as Duke lost by one.

"From start to finish, RJ was there every second", Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said in a statement.

An Associated Press first-team All American, Barrett announced his decision through social media on Wednesday, April 10, saying "It was a dream of mine to play at Duke since I was a young kid". Including Barrett's triple-double, there have only been four triple-double's in program history.

"After discussing with my coaches and my family, I decided that I'll be declaring for the 2019 NBA Draft".

Barrett recorded Duke's first triple-double since 2006 with 21 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in a 94-78 home win over N.C. State on February 16. I want to thank the Crazies and the entire Duke community for everything you've given to me.

Crolla dropped to 34-7-3 as he landed just a handful of punches and only survived the third round because of the bell. The crowd of over 10,000 at Staples Center Arena came looking for a knockout and they got exactly that.

Barrett finished his career with the Blue Devils with averages of 22.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists.

Barrett joins a growing list of Canadians leaving the NCAA early to enter the National Basketball Association draft.

Barrett is projected to be a lottery pick by draft experts.

The only Duke player to score more points in a single season than R.J. Barrett was J.J. He had 33 twice - first in his college debut against Kentucky, and then in a home loss to North Carolina after Williamson left in the opening minute with a blown-out left sneaker and a right knee sprain.

Barrett ended the season tied with Zion Williamson as the Blue Devils' leading scorers and his presence on the court was consistent throughout the entire year.

Duke point guard Tre Jones announced this week he would return to the school for his sophomore season.
