Frank Lampard sings Leeds chant about himself after play-off victory

Leeds United stuck in English Championship for another year

In January Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds United caused huge controversy when Derby County spotted a Leeds employee spying on their training sessions ahead of the two teams playing each other in the Championship.

In the Championship, England's second tier league, the top two finishers are promoted automatically while the teams that finish third through sixth enter a four-team tournament for the final spot. And the Leeds fans chanted at Lampard about 'spygate'.

And Whites fans harked back to that incident with a creative chant mocking Derby manager Frank Lampard after they won the first leg 1-0 at Pride Park last week.

The Rams' spectacular victory makes them the first team to lose the first leg of a play-off semi-final at home and go on to proceed to the final.

Jack Marriott crushed Leeds United's promotion hopes with a late victor for Derby County at Elland Road on Wednesday night.

The were jubliant scenes amongst the Derby players at the final whistle, but Lampard insisted attention would quickly turn to their Wembley date with Villa.

Of course, Frank Lampard and Derby weren't happy, and they would have been even angrier when they were beaten 2-0 at Elland Road a couple of days later.

Russia is not a fire brigade to rescue Iran deal: Putin
Pompeo and Lavrov, who appeared at ease with other, were to brief President Vladimir Putin on the meeting in the evening. Putin told Pompeo his recent telephone conversation with Trump raised hopes for an improvement in relations.

Mount hauled Derby level in a tie turned on its head 38 seconds into the second half, digging out a fabulous finish to cap a solo run, and the woefully erratic Casilla was similarly helpless when Cooper pulled back Mason Bennett to concede a penalty that Wilson converted.

Then, in their league match against Villa in April, Leeds allowed their opponents to walk in an equaliser unopposed after the home side scored while a Villa player was down injured.

"Maybe, maybe [it is sweeter]".

"I heard a lot of people saying that we were crying about Spygate but I haven't thought about Spygate for a long time".

"We were able to prepare for this game, we were prepared and we got a result".

Derby now move into the playoff final at the end of the month, where they will face Aston Villa for a place in the Premier League.
