"I understand that it's unbelievable to use your platform, but it really does scare me to see how exposed that these young girls and these young boys are, and they're not really aware of the news or anything going on", she continued.
One of her co-stars, the legendary Bill Murray, is also a big fan of Gomez, and the two made headlines when he whispered something in her ear at the Cannes red carpet. "It is unsafe. I don't think people are getting the right information".
Selena Gomez has been through a lot these days and her fans are excited to see her at Cannes Film Festival for her upcoming movie The Dead Don't Die. The point of the video was supposed to be amusing that they were saying I walked out on Hailey and they spelled my name wrong this idea that I secretly plot on opening my history thing purposefully and zoom out just enough so you can see her name is insane.
"I'm grateful I have a platform", Gomez added. I don't do a lot of pointless pictures. "What Jim (Jarmusch) gestured to in the film is that social media has really been awful for my generation", Gomez, 26, told a news conference. For me, I like to be intentional with it.
Just last month, Gomez discussed her use of social media and managing Instagram trolls while on Coach's new podcast series, "Dream It Real". "I'll meet them at meet-and-greets, and they're just devastated by bullying and not having a voice".
"As soon as I became the most followed person on Instagram", she explained, "I sort of freaked out". "Sometimes people may think that I politically say the right thing or I'm safe or I've been trained to speak this way". It can be great in moments. Selena suggests putting healthy time limits on social media use.

"We do have people that are concerned with it and are making it their focus, mostly younger people - there is optimism for sure but it's just the timeframe is speeding up very quickly", he said. "Selena loves what she does and she loves her fans, but she doesn't like the pressure and expectations of being under a microscope".
Gomez's statement in her Cannes panel might reflect the singer's own anecdotal experiences, but scientific studies seem to back up her theory.
