Few strong storms possible this evening

More storms could fire on Wednesday around the front, so don't expect overly nice days for the first three days of the week. "All modes of severe weather are possible including the risk for very large hail (2" in diameter), 60-70 miles per hour wind gusts, and a few tornadoes. Low pressure tracks out from the west slinging showers and thunderstorms over the region by early Memorial Day and this could run for most of the day. The high temperature will be in the low to mid 70s.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with showers/storms.

A few showers linger into early Wednesday, but at least we're back to near seasonable temperatures...then, 80° Thursday with a spotty afternoon thunderstorm.

What to say instead of 'Happy Memorial Day'
Monday the Mohawk American Legion Post 25 on West Main Street, which will end with a memorial service at the cemetery. The Pressman Kosters Post 329 will hold a Memorial Day service on Monday, May 27th at 9:30 a.m.at Westlawn Cemetery.

Heavy rainfall is likely to accompany the storms which may result in flash flooding in some areas, the weather service said. Highs will reach the mid 80s this afternoon, cooler than yesterday but still above normal for this time of year.

The good news is that Memorial Day on Monday, May 27 will be picture ideal - sunny and seasonable with a high in the mid to upper 70s and calm winds of about eight miles per hour.

MONDAY: Partly cloudy skies and a few isolated storms will be possible, with a high of 83 degrees.
