Jose Mourinho 'willing to talk to Newcastle about manager's job if takeover completed'

Jose Mourinho has told friends he'd seriously consider managing Newcastle United

Mirror reports Jose Mourinho has intimated to his closest friends that he would be interested in taking over as Newcastle's new manager should Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed approach him after purchasing the club from Mike Ashley.

Former Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid manager Mourinho is high on his list.

Jose Mourinho is ready to talk to Newcastle's potential new owner if multi-billionaire Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan comes calling.

However, he's had a soft spot for Geordies ever since working alongside his mentor; the late Sir Bobby Robson, at Sporting Lisbon, Porto and Barcelona in the 1990s.

Speaking about the club previously, Mourinho was quoted by Daily Star as saying, "I like to go there". I like the stadium.

Mourinho back in March said that he would only return to club football to manage a club with a clear structure, insisting he had already turned down three or four job offers.

The Chronicle, in a report suggesting some potential free agents Newcastle should look to sign this summer, have suggested that Moreno would be a good addition for the Magpies with the left-back set to be released at the end of his current deal with Liverpool.
