Now a TV insider has shed a little more information on why Sherif left Love Island.
The 20-year-old chef reportedly agreed with the producers he would leave after just nine days.
The programme, which is hosted by Caroline Flack, sees dumped contestants talk about their time on the show and grilled about villa gossip.
The singleton took to his Instagram stories to share a news article which had his exit in the headline, he added a meme which said: 'Looks like Makarska's back on the menu boys'.
However, an ITV representative has confirmed to HELLO! that these are actually fake and are not from Sherif.
Fans have taken to social media to express their shock at Lanre's departure and to mull the mystery of which rule he broke.
"Sherif made a silly mistake and was immediately summoned to the Beach Hut - it wasn't a criminal matter and he was spoken to and agreed to leave", the source told the Daily Mirror newspaper.
