Kevin Durant will play in Game 5 of the NBA Finals [report]

The Golden State Warriors hope he will again on Monday.

Kevin Durant's injury during the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors put a damper on the Golden State Warriors' chance of winning the series, putting them down 3-1.

The Warriors trail the Toronto Raptors 3-1 in the best-of-seven series, meaning their quest for a third consecutive National Basketball Association championship could end on Monday. "He went through full shootaround and went back to get treatment", Warriors coach Steve Kerr said.

Durant was not made available to comment.

Durant, who has won the last two NBA Finals MVP awards, has not played since suffering a calf injury in the second round of the playoffs.

The Warriors are 6-3 in the nine games Durant has missed.

Jets' new GM Joe Douglas: Solid hire, but it guarantees nothing
Douglas spent the last three years in Philadelphia, serving as the Eagles' vice president of player personnel. Before joining the Eagles front office, he was the Chicago Bears Director of College Scouting in 2015.

Of course, no one can count out the Warriors just yet.

Kerr was asked if he had any reservations about Durant's ability if he is ultimately cleared to play. "He's doing more today, and then we'll know more after that", Kerr said, according to ESPN's Nick Friedell.

"He will be very welcomed", Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson said Sunday to reporters.

Toronto allowed Kobe Bryant to score 81 points on January 22, 2006.

The All-Star forward briefly practiced Sunday, setting up a possible return for Monday's Game 5 against the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena.

Some of the new fans say they're sticking around - 34 per cent of respondents said they're likely to follow the Raptors next season regardless of the outcome of the Finals. Even if he isn't 100%, Durant's mere presence should make the Warriors more potent on the offensive end.
