The company refreshes gaming consoles every few years. I highly doubt this will be the case, but I guess we'll definitely know for sure in just under 24 hours when AMD's Next Horizon Gaming event kicks off at 3pm PT / 11pm BST. For the time being, the hardware is codenamed "Scarlett" and has release date window of Holiday 2020.
We won't have too long to wait either.
Microsoft also revealed some tiny details Sunday about its next-generation Xbox console, which now has the code name "Project Scarlett". As with the PlayStation 5, its custom system on chip is based on the Zen 2 CPU microarchitecture and the Navi GPU architecture.

The goals for Scarlett included reducing load times and loading screens, lowering the amount of time that a player is "sitting there in a fake elevator", to quote one of the developers. Microsoft didn't provide details on pricing or on how xCloud will work, but xCloud will be available for public preview starting this October. It will also have more storage.
It seems like a safe bet that some portion of the evening will be spent pitching the benefits of Game Pass, as well, especially considering the launch of the new PC Game Pass offerings.
